yoga for every body

Infant and Me: Postpartum

This class is taught by:

Kadee Barello

Kadee brings a sense of playfulness and humility to her practice. She is open-minded and compassionate, and loves to see you smile. Enthusiastic about the multifaceted benefits of yoga, Kadee uses her knowledge in Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing), and Meditation to guide her students through a practice that focuses on mind-body connection (mindfulness). With training in the Viniyoga style, Kadee uses adaptations in yoga and offers variation in postures to fit individual needs

Sonia Weirich

Throughout my life physical movement has always given me peace in body, mind, and spirit. In my teens I was involved in all kinds of sports particularly running, swimming, and cycling. In my twenties, I studied martial arts and obtained my black belt in Shotokan karate. Then in my thirties I was drawn to the familiar practices of yoga which I had been exposed to in my childhood. Over a number of years I explored many different styles of yoga and in 2007 I began teaching Hatha and Vinyasa classes.

In 2010, I moved to Seattle to deepen my studies with my spiritual teacher. Once here, I was exposed to Viniyoga which resonated deeply. I subsequently obtained my Viniyoga teaching certificate in 2011 and began teaching group classes at area studios.

Having seen the healing quality of yoga over the years, I am now focused on the therapeutic application of Viniyoga and am enrolled in a Yoga Therapy Foundations training program through Essential Yoga Therapy.

Please join our wonderful Infant and Me Post-Natal yoga class. Our class focus is to provide you with a supportive practice that helps you with your recovery from birth and addresses some of the physical and emotional demands that caring for your infant can bring. Through the practice of yoga this class will focus on gentle strengthening, especially back, core, pelvic floor, glutes and legs. Attention will be given to finding ease for tired and sore muscles of the neck, back, shoulders arms and wrists through specific stretching sequences. Most importantly we will always make time for restorative poses and simple key practices that can be achieved at home in minimal amount of time. This is a special time for you and your baby. You are welcome to feed, nurse and change your baby when needed and share in the joy of seeing your baby watch you do yoga!
